Manipulating Time

Can we really manipulate time? Freeze it in a photograph? Let it elapse faster – or slower?

My last post describes how to create time-lapse movies.

Time-lapse photography speeds up time. The opposite is done with high-speed photography – slowing down time. Some great examples:

• One guy created a time-lapse video during a trip from LA to NY in his convertible car. Very cool!
• Beautiful landscapes in time-lapse.
• ‘Chronos‘ is a classic.
• The opposite – extreme slow motion shot with a 1’000 frames per second camera – is shown here. It’s done with a I-Movix hispeed camera. They also have some very cool movies in full HD on their website.
