iPhone Photography

IMG_0853The iPhone camera might not be the most sophisticated gadget. However, sometimes it’s liberating not to have to many options. The simple things are always good in life… Shooting with a toy camera is pure fun. Many of the images in my iPhone section on my website have been shot on the road, in trains etc.

Here is what I use for shooting and processing the photos in the iPhone. I’m a fan of separating shooting and postprocessing, so I often use the native iPhone camera app. My favourite postprocessing app is EffectsLab. EffectsLab allows postprocessing without touching the original photo. You can use predefined filters or roll your own. Very important: image size is not shrinked, photos stay 1600 pixels wide.

Another favourite of mine is DXP. You can create double exposures in different modes from photos taken in the native camera app. Just like using a Holga…

Polarize creates very nice Polaroid-like images, and OldCamera gives beautiful black & white photos in different modes. TiltShift does what it name says: creating the miniature effect often seen recently. Only a few days old is Best Camera, which has already become very popular, maybe because of its ease of use and nice presets.
